The boys (especially Cade Carter) keep begging their Daddy to build them a tree house. Since we do not have any trees in our yard, we decided to go look for some on our land behind our house. We have a patch of trees that's overgrown with lots of shrubs, bushes and smaller trees. Hank got the chainsaw out and started cleaning away. It was a little scary to see Hank (the car salesman) with a chainsaw. Thank goodness, Paw Paw came out to observe the action that was going on. Paw Paw found a ladder that my Grandfather (Daddy James) hand built probably in the 70's. It was so neat to uncover these things that my Grandfather chose to keep. The ladder is going to work out perfect for the tree house. Let's just hope that this is the beginning of something very appealing to my boys!

Tree houses are the best! Brandon and I made our own when we were kids. It was nothing fancy, but was the best we could do with a piece or two of plywood a few 2x4s and a hammer and nails. We would sit in that old tree for hours. Ah the days! The boys are gonna love it!
I love the fact that you all are using the old ladder. It will mean so much to the boys when they get older. What a neat way to preserve a part of their heritage. I know they are going to love the tree house. Can't wait to see pictures during it's progress!!!
What fun! I know your boys will have as much fun with it as Hank will building it. I expect to see progress posts...:)
