Last Fall around November 1st, I planted 100 tulip bulbs around my house. I spent hours using that little gadget tool I bought for planting bulbs. I put some very tiring hours into that little project. Well guess how many actually came up this spring in my yard? N-O-N-E!!!! What did I do wrong? Again, I do not have a green thumb but dang, that was some work!
On a good note, right outside my door at work is an awesome view of hundreds of tulips that I can see every day. Are they not just beautiful! I have never seen the court house look so beautiful in the Spring. It's a shame that tulips only last a few weeks. I love working on the square and getting a great view of the tulips. Maybe next year they will finally grow in my yard...Until next year!

Susan,
I did the same thing one year at our old house. I planted hyacinths around the shop out back and low and behold, when spring came around, there were NONE! I was so bummed, but the next year, they all came up. I don't know what the deal is with bulbs, but I have heard some say that they have experienced the same thing. Maybe next year??? I hate that you went to all that trouble. It sure is disappointing especially when you are excited about seeing your beautiful flowers. Maybe they just need a good year to sit in the ground and adapt to their new environment.
Susan - mine didn't come up the first year but came up every year after that. Good Luck!
