(Mr. Fields, the principal awarding Cade Carter)
Hank & I are so proud of Cade Carter...his school recently had Awards Day and this bragging parent was SO PROUD. He received an award for A/B Honor Roll for the ENTIRE YEAR, he got perfect attendance and last but not least, he scored a PERFECT 6 on his 5th grade writing assessment. The score of a 6 was truly an honor for him. There were only several in the entire 5th grade who received it. (yes, I'm bragging again. ) I just can't help it.
I think he's a little proud too.
This past year in 5th grade was definitely a change for Cade Carter. I SO DID NOT want him to go to the Middle School. I mean, Crestview Middle had the ONLY 5th grade in the county-all the other 5th grades were at the Elementary schools. I contemplated on a private school for him because I ONLY EXPECTED the worst. In today's world all I want to do is SHELTER my kids because it's a cruel world out there. But I honestly must admit, I did not have any problems. Maybe it's because Cade Carter is truly a "good" kid but I really felt he had great teachers too. Yes, I admit there is no communication between teachers and parents as I like in middle school, but again...they are growing up. We've got to let them learn responsibility. This was definitely a difficult thing for me. On a happier note, 5th grade is moving back to the Elementary this upcoming year, so my Lil Cam will remain there in the years to come. Yay! sigh...relieved parent...
Now, it's on to the 6th grade...

Way to go, Cade Carter! And you have a right to brag on him. I taight 5th grade writing, and scoring a 6 is certainly a wonderful achievement!! He does look so grown up...
Oops! That previous comment should have said "taught". This former English teacher should know to go back and proofread, right?:)
