What's gotten into me?

Seeing my monkey grass peak  from the ground tells me Spring is here!

I absolutely love the rose bushes around the court square.  I view the courthouse every day from the windows of the bank and these bushes bloom 80% of the the year!  I had to find out the name of them and they are called "Knock Out Rose Bushes."

Ever since we moved into our house in 2004 I can honestly say that I haven't put any effort or work into my yard and flower beds.  Don't get me wrong, I've done a little here and there but the majority of it has been done by my wonderful mother who planted it all.  With small children,  it has always been difficult to get outside and get any major work accomplished.  I have mostly focused on the inside of our house decorating, organizing and making it presentable to our family and friends.  (if that's possible)

This year has been different.  My kids are now helping me!  I have gotten out in the dirt and  mulched and planted many trees.  I even have became a member of the Arbor Foundation...This is just to weird for me...I've always hated disliked gardening and working in the yard...Hopefully this new excitement will remain with me through the years because it's such a stress reliever to me.
