Meet Maggie!

Margaret Raylynn Elder
I just had to post this picture of the new baby girl in the Elder Family. My friend, Teresa finally got her baby girl. I got to stop by and see this precious baby right after she got home. She's 2 days old in this picture weighing in at 8 lbs 13 oz. The name "Maggie" is very special to Teresa-due to the fact it is her grandmother's name Ms. Margaret Wiseman who passed away this year. When Teresa told me she was expecting, (after she had to pick me up off the ground at the baseball field this past summer) I knew then this baby had to be a girl because she MUST be named after her grandmother. Ms Margaret was a wonderful person and "Maggie" is the perfect name for this special baby girl.

Gingerbread House Time and the Arrival of Elroy

Not sure if this can be seen, but Elroy mailed the boys a letter mid November.

Yes-Elroy arrived again this year...Elroy told me (the MOM) that each one gets a small gift a day only if they are good. I even had to buy several bags of coal on the days they were bad...AMAZING HOW THIS LIL ELF OPERATES????

First Science Project

Cade Carter was given his first project in third grade for the year.  He was to build his own habitat.  We knew that we were headed for the mountains so he decided to do a "WOODLAND FOREST" habitat.  We made the bear cave out of play doh and the box was covered in leaves.  We worked on it for several days and this was the end result!

House of Rock?

Some of us play guitar hero, not Cam.  He prefers to rock and roll on his new (REAL) guitar he got for his birthday.  By the way, he performs best in his underwear!

I'm a combine driver!!

Camden's plan is to be a farmer someday so when he got a chance to ride the combine when they picked the beans around our house he was so excited.  He even let "big brother" take a ride too!  Mr. Justin and his helpers are wonderful to let the boys ride with them!!!

Happy 6th Birthday Camden!

For Camden's 6th birthday this year we celebrated at Dustin & Sarah's new house with the lake so the kiddos could fish.  Camden told me he wanted a hunting and fishing party.  The fishing part was a breeze but the hunting part was a little difficult.  Hunting animals with guns was definitely a safety issue, therefore, it took me awhile to figure out what Hank & I could do to make this happen.  We ended up getting bb guns and several wild game targets and let the kiddos do some damage to them.   Cam ended up catching a very large bass fish which was the highlight of his day.

More Gatlinburg Pics!

On day three of our vacation, we packed up and went hiking through the mountains.  We hiked Laurel Falls and saw one of God's beautiful creations which is a beautiful  water fall coming off the top of a mountain.  It was absolutely beautiful.  The hike up the mountain really tired the boys but it was so worth it when we got to the top!   I've realized  it's the simple things in life like hiking with your family and being together means more to me than any other expensive vacation.  Don't get me wrong, I enjoy vacations on the beach, Disney, etc but give me the mountains ANY DAY!!!!!

Gatlinburg 2009

The past few days have been a complete blast for our family.  We always like to head up to Gatlinburg every year in the fall and enjoy the beauty of the Smoky Mountains.  This year they looked even more magical than ever...not sure what heaven looks like but being up on the tallest mountain in Gatlinburg is definitely HEAVENLY.  This year we ziplined down the mountains and it was AWESOME! I can't believe it, but I actually ziplined too!  Hank is still amazed that I would get 50 feet above ground and zipline from tree to tree.  Cade Carter was so excited about ziplining, but on the other hand, Cam was very reluctant of the idea.  He was tear eyed when they attached the harness to him.  Hank kept telling him that he would be right behind him the whole time...Well, Hank was behind him but he wasn't "right behind' him.  Once Cam got to the other side and noticed his Daddy wasn't with him-he looked over and gave us the "BIGGEST SMILE AND A THUMBS UP."   It was truly an amazing experience and I highly recommend it!

DiDi and Aunt Sarah Move In!

I am very happy to announce that my brother and sister-n-law are finally moved into their new home. We celebrated MiMi's birthday out by the lake. My boys want to move in with them now. They are always wanting to go over to Uncle DiDi's house. It's been fun helping Sarah decorate and unpack all her awesome gifts they received when they got married. Congratulation Dustin and Sarah...(now just make me an aunt in the future...ok, maybe a couple of years! LOL)

Chargers Storm Football

Cade Carter & Huntley Rose

Even Hank had to coach one game! ( With assistance of Hunter Rose)

This was the first year Cade Carter played football.  Chris Jacobs was the coach and these boys may not have had many wins, but they indeed have some fun!!!
