Three moments from another weekend passed of thankful living.

Can we ever be thankful enough?

~Friday Night Out with Family-Dinner and a Movie -we saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid and it was GREAT!! The boys loved it and it was hilarious!

~Celebrating Sarah's 28th birthday at my Mom's house!

~Thankful that Kate got to bring Lucy home from St. Jude!  Yah! Go Lucy Go!  I still have some large and XL Lucy shirts if anyone needs one.  Just shoot me an email and I'll get them to ya!

On a lighter note, I finally bit the bullet and ordered me a new camera.  I've only been researching and talking about it for 6 months and I finally did it today online.  Now I can only pray that Hank will appreciate that my Mother's Day present is already bought!  He should be happy, right?  Or NOT! When I take those first few pics of the boys playing baseball maybe he will appreciate it.

A Year With Frog And Toad Junior

The 1st grade at Crestview performed their annual play this year.

They sung a few cute songs, but I didn't realize Cam had a main part.  See, he was a snail.  He was to deliver a letter to the frog and toad.  And we all know how slow a snail moves.  The entire time I was sitting there watching him I was thinking "Oh how this part fits him so well."  I tell Cam every day to take out the trash which is only about 10 steps out the door.  Not my Cam-he will get on his bike, ride around the house, stop and pet the cat, kick some dirt and then finally make it to the trash can. (Remember the Family Circus Comics?)  That's my Cam!  But overall, he did an awesome job with the mail.  He finally got the mail to Frog and Toad!

Upward Basketball

This year Oak Grove Baptist Church created a new basketball league, Upward Basketball.   In the past,  the boys have always played at our local Sportsplex.  It was considered church basketball but hardly anyone actually played for their own church. (?)  Anyway, a lot of the times the teams just get stacked with best buddies and the best players.  And sometimes there were some Non-Christian attitudes by adults that really bothered me.  I mean, hey, these are kids...OUR KIDS!

Each year some one million people around the world play, coach, referee or volunteer in Upward Sports Leagues and Camps hosted by more than 2,400 churches. These churches have taken Upward Sports Programs to 67 countries on mission trips. Anyone – children and volunteers of any faith or no faith – can participate in Upward Sports. Specifically designed for children in K5- sixth grade, Upward Sports aims to bring out “the winner” in every child – regardless of the game’s score.

Camden and Cade Carter both played awesome games this year.  Each team was computer generated due to each child having try outs.  Each player was rated, therefore, NO STACKED TEAMS!  Oak Grove had superb support by their members that every time we would attend a game the more in awe I became.  From what I understand, Upward will become a big part of our town in the future not only at Oak Grove but other churches too.  Soccer, Basketball, Cheer leading, etc

Camden met Jacob this year in first grade.  Jacob's mom is Cam's teacher, Ms. Jolea.  These two are such a pair.  Lots in common and they play so hard together.  I mean they never stop.  This pic was taken after a long day of P-L-A-Y!!

An Evening Out...

 Junior Auxiliary played a big part of my life from 1999-2005 Six years of service to this organization was very special and I wouldn't take it back at all.  Going to the Annual Charity Ball has always been a tradition for us over the years.   I have to admit, that since my kids are bigger and in more sports, etc it is sometimes difficult for Hank & I to get to places for fun.  It was very nice to get all dressed up and go out and party for a few hours.  Until next year! 

Girl's Night Out

These 3 are trouble together!  That's all I''m saying.  Teresa, Me and Mylea went all through school together and we've had some good times and bad.  We kinda just tell each other the way it is and no ones feelings get hurt.  Isn't that the way it's supposed to be? 

My great friend Regina. I'll never forget the first time I met her-I was working at the Cherry Blossom in Covington (Formal Attire Clothing for you young chickens out there!)  Helping her with her wedding dress, bridesmaids, etc  and I had no idea we would end up being such good friends.  In 1996, I remember her being at my own wedding and she had just had her little baby Paige.  A month later, she called and said-you are not going to believe this but guess what..."I'm preggo!"  I was thinking, ok, how did this happen Regina?  Baby Paige is only 3 months old.  She looked at me and said Your Wedding Happened -if you get my drift....LOL!  I was worried for her with such little ones so close together but she turned out to be a wonderful mother.  She has the God Given Gift.  She was my inspriation when I decided to have children. 

A few of us girls got together a few weekends ago and went to the Butcher Shop to eat dinner.  Something that I hardly ever get to do with just girls.  We had a great time just hanging out and talking about things in life.  We plan to start getting together once a month-no bunco, no games, just a night of laughter and good times.  Can you blame me...there are no females in my house-all boys!  It does a woman good!

The Krull Family

Blogs can be misleading. Most of the time, we only write about happy things going on in our lives.  Pictures that are cute, stories that are funny and recipes that are delicious. We rarely, if ever, tell what's really going on in our lives. I'm guilty of it with this blog. But not today.

Ever since Lucy Krull (age 5) was diagnosed with medulablastoma (a type of brain cancer) my family has been devastated over poor Lucy's diagnosis.  When I first found out I cried tears, cried out to God and my mind went a thousand different directions.  I told Hank "Lucy was just at our home this past Sunday riding 4-wheelers with us...how could this happen?"  Lately I've been scared, worried  and I just don't understand a lot of things. But, I've learned so much through our small community that I am from, and how BIG GOD ACTUALLY IS!!!  The prayers, not to mention the gestures of love this little girl is receiving is remarkable.

All the scriptures I've read on facebook have revitalized me and I've learned how much He loves us and that we all have been touched by Lucy's ilness.  That if it matters to me, it matters to God.  I love our church and the other Godly people in our lives. It has been  so encouraging to see people actually acting like Christians, supporting the Krull family and not to mention each other.  Everyones kindness shows they love Jesus and want to be His hands and feet during this difficult time to comfort this family.   And last, I've learned that no matter what we give to the Krull family, (whether it's the World  famous "Go Lucy Go" t-shirts, bracelets, car decals, buttons, a donation to St. Jude,) it is from HIS hands. We don't earn anything, He gives it.  I ask everyone that reads this blog, to please pray for Lucy and to ask God to show us something good to come out of something that seems so bad.
