Sardis with the Fam
We headed to Sardis the day after watching the Redbirds play with the Sampson crew.
We introduced them to Sardis and our Pink Palace. LOL! We had a house full, (approximately 11 bodies) in our little Palace. We went out on the water alot and of course, ate alot. Summertime musts! It was great to have them down and spend time together.
C*R*A*Z*Y BOYS AT THE LAKE!
Cade Carter loves the water.
Memorial Day Weekend was spent at Sardis Lake. It was so nice to get away and spend time with the family and friends. There were boys everywhere for Cam to play and act crazy with. One morning the men went and played golf & us crazy girls took OUR KIDS shopping and for coffee. I know we're nuts but had to get some caffeine to put up with the kids while shpping. I've found that it's a must to go to Oxford Square to High Point Coffee and get my usual latte (LOVE LOVE their coffee!!) We ended up taking the kids to Chilis for lunch-it was actually a fun day and the kiddos were FABULOUS...next time men, the ladies get to go out and have fun.
REDBIRDS
A couple of weeks ago I took off work on a Friday and had a 3-day weekend. I like to do that a lot in the summer since my kiddos are home from school. We took the kiddos to their first Redbirds game that Thursday night-needless to say it started storming at 5:00 and was raining cats and dogs. The game was pushed back an hour but we still had a great time. The stands were practically empty so we got Rocky's full attention a few times.
Can you say Purple Rain?

Finding Peace
This day has been horrible. I woke up and poured my usual cup of coffee and opened my laptop up and went straight to Kate's blog. I was hoping to read that Lucy was improving and is on the road to recovery but instead my heart stopped and the world froze around me. As I read the words... Lucy's cancer is back I asked God why?..I look for answers but there are none .I wanted to blame something but there's nothing to blame. My questions go unanswered once again. Lucy is tired of this fight. Please pray for peace for Sweet Lucy. Lucy, God's got this!

Awards Day
(Mr. Fields, the principal awarding Cade Carter)
Hank & I are so proud of Cade Carter...his school recently had Awards Day and this bragging parent was SO PROUD. He received an award for A/B Honor Roll for the ENTIRE YEAR, he got perfect attendance and last but not least, he scored a PERFECT 6 on his 5th grade writing assessment. The score of a 6 was truly an honor for him. There were only several in the entire 5th grade who received it. (yes, I'm bragging again. ) I just can't help it.
I think he's a little proud too.
This past year in 5th grade was definitely a change for Cade Carter. I SO DID NOT want him to go to the Middle School. I mean, Crestview Middle had the ONLY 5th grade in the county-all the other 5th grades were at the Elementary schools. I contemplated on a private school for him because I ONLY EXPECTED the worst. In today's world all I want to do is SHELTER my kids because it's a cruel world out there. But I honestly must admit, I did not have any problems. Maybe it's because Cade Carter is truly a "good" kid but I really felt he had great teachers too. Yes, I admit there is no communication between teachers and parents as I like in middle school, but again...they are growing up. We've got to let them learn responsibility. This was definitely a difficult thing for me. On a happier note, 5th grade is moving back to the Elementary this upcoming year, so my Lil Cam will remain there in the years to come. Yay! sigh...relieved parent...
Now, it's on to the 6th grade...
