Cade Carter's Promotion to 5th Grade
Well, days of Crestview Elementary are over with. Cade Carter has been promoted to the 5th grade at Crestview Middle School. His promotion was last week and the 4th grade teachers gave a great graduation party. The kids sang in the gym to all the parents which was great. Some of the songs were quite comical as you can see in the following pics.
Mrs. Sarah Cousar introducing her students. We are going to miss Mrs. Sarah. She has been an awesome teacher this year!
Cade Carter and his best bud Huntley Rose.
Ms. Betty-Cade Carter will miss you!
Check out the shades...they were to funny singing and dancing...or should I say to "cool for school."
Now, I'm sure all of you are thinking...how's Susan handling her oldest going to the Middle School. To answer that...I'm horrible. When the day arrives in August and I drop him off...it's not going to be a good day for me. I think it's the unknown that I'm scared of the most but just walking into the school last week for parent orientation just about got the best of me. It's definitely not a welcoming feeling like you feel at Crestview Elementary. The teachers just kept repeatedly telling me these are the years they GROW UP. Well I personally didn't want to hear that. My child is in 5th grade-not High School! They mentioned that these are the years we embarrass them so "Don't come eat lunch with them or they might hide under the lunch table." As I toured the school I saw the different hallways that separated the 5th grade students from the rest of the school. Well, that still didn't make me feel better. I just don't want to leave Crestview Elementary. Everyone took care of Cade Carter there and I mean EVERYBODY. Can I just click my heels three times and be back there with Cade Carter? "There's no place like home."

Sardis Lake, Spring Break
Cade Carter checking out the naughty boys!
The last few days of Spring Break, the fam headed to the Pink Palace (our trailer) at Sardis. Check out the sign hanging from the porch. Thanks Ms. Ginny!
The Elders have a place too in the park, so the kids had a blast! They rode bikes, played in the mud and played tag all weekend. We didn't get out on the water because it was to windy. Hopefully next time!

Do we need to start building an ark?
Seriously, is it ever going to stop raining? God, do we need to start building an ark? I'm so thankful that we live on a hill, but I feel for those whose homes will be flooding soon. The kiddos even got out of school today at 1:00 due to all the flooding of the back roads. We will see historic flooding within the next 10 days which is so scary. Rivers and creeks are quickly rising and could back up in many neighborhoods here in Tipton County. The Mississippi River is expected to crest sometime between 45 and 48 feet by this weekend. Everyone, please stay safe.
Hunters Safety
The month of March consisted of two nights a week being dedicated to Cade Carter's Hunter's Safety Course. Between baseball beginning and Hunters Safety and HOMEWORK things have been quite hectic for him. On the last night he scored a 102 and received his certificate. He was so excited! Way to go Cade Carter! We are very proud of you! Once again, you never cease to amaze us on how smart you are!

Baseball has begun!
I just love this picture of Cam's teammates. The little Hughes Boy (Jake) was hiding behind some of the boys during the picture and just in the nick of time, he stuck his head out. He was just to darn cute.
Baseball has officially began for my family this year! Work, Eat, Ball field....Work, Eat, Ball field... This year Hank is coaching Cade Carter's 9-10 year old team. Their team name is Bank of Tipton....I just don't see me wearing a "Bank of Tipton" shirt. I will let Hank do all the advertising for them this year. Hopefully next year Patriot Bank will sponsor more than one team...
Cam is on the team King Cotton. Todd Reeder is his coach. Hopefully he will play as well as he did last year...who knows, all stars may be in our future this summer. Ya never know. This is the first year that Cam has played pitcher so it's definitely different for him.
As for Cade Carter, well this age group scares me. You got kids pitching to kids. Some get hit, some are fast enough to duck down, and others, well....they never see it coming. LOL
Cade Carter is built just like Hank with the large chest and broad shoulders, therefore, he can throw the heck out of a ball. He is pitching again this year. He's catching some, but as Cade Carter says, "Dad, I just don't like catching!!!" Truth is, it's a lot of EXERCISE WORK.
