Rainy Day=Movie Day

 

Last Saturday when it was a funky, rainy day-this crew went to the movies.  The young girls went to see the Snow White movie while all the boys and Hank saw the Avengers.  Jaime & I snuck away and watched "The Lucky One!"  I know Zac Efron is just a kid....but he is one GOOD LOOKING YOUNG MAN!  It was definitely a chic flick but so very worth it.   

More Mother's Day...

My Mother's Day was great...We went to church and then had lunch at Sarah & Dustin's.  Dustin & Sarah cooked for us mothers...Meghan and Logan, along with Patti were there too.  Maybe Sarah and Meghan will be mothers next Mother's Day!  (Wishful thinking!) 

Dustin came out of his shed riding in this VERY OLD jeep...the boys loved it!!!  They rode around the entire lake.

And finally, a pic of my Mother's Day Gift from the boys.  I received two rockers!  I'm in the middle of painting them...ever painted rockers....very time consuming but oh, so worth it. I LOVE THEM!!!

Nutella Brownies

I go through phases of different hobbies, and I know that my husband wants to kill me at times.  He always says that I start things and never finish...hmm...sound familiar?  I admit that I always have good intentions but I always get wrapped up into something else.  I've got scrapbooks, I've knitted scarves, decorated cookies, paint stuff, and recently, I attempted sewing...what a disaster!  I need major assistance with the sewing machine...that's still on my bucket list. Now I'm into gardening... But thanks to the new DEVIL Pinterest-it's all this websites fault. I of course take no blame at all.  :)   Recently, I found a recipe to Nutella Brownies on pinterest and I made them and they were so, so yummy.  I'll never make brownies again with cocoa...bring on the Nutella.  As you can see, Cam licked  the bowl clean.  As for pinterest, you can meet me there at 9 pm tonight because I guarantee I'll be looking for more ideas and recipes.  Sorry Hank!

It's the weekend!!!

What a weekend!  I got up Saturday morning and went to the Go Lucy Go 5k and enjoyed painting many, many and more many childrens' faces.  The race was a huge success...If you are new to my blog, please read my friend Kate's blog-just reading it you will see why the Race was a SUPER SUCCESS...and what an awesome cause.  www.erikandkatekrull.blogspot.com

Saturday night we went to Chisolm Lake and had dinner with some friends.  Steak & Crab Legs!!!   It was awesome that we got to fish at Mickey Elder's aunt's cabin while we were there.  The fish were huge.  The poles we had couldn't even get these 5 pounders reeled in...we tried using a net and they were so big that they got away.  It was super crazy.  As you can see, we did get some out of the water. 

 

I've become the Cat Woman!

Have I mentioned I love Cats.  I've enjoyed having cats as pets all my life even though I'm allergic to them.  I MUST always wash my hands after petting them and I'm fine.  I rescued a cat a few months ago in the highway in front of our house...She had a broken leg...but now has blessed me with 6 more kittens.  In addition to THOSE kittens, I now have the family cat, Dora, who has blessed us once again with 6 more kittens.  Did I mention I still have one kitten left from Dora's last litter....With all that being said, YES THEY ARE GETTING NEUTERED ASAP AND YES I HAVE A TOTAL OF 15 cats...  They will be ready to given away at the end of May!  I know some of you need some summer kittens...I never have snakes or mice!  Please spread the word...

This is my handsome nephew, Chance.  He's been a cowboy all his life.  My boys think he hung the moon because he is one true country boy.  He hunts, fishes, ropes cattle, shows calves, rides horses, and  goes mud 'doggin (as my boys say!) Did I mention all the baseball and football he's played?  Chance graduates this month from high school.  Phil Ramsey captured him in this picture like no one else ever could.

I remember the night he was born.  I cannot believe he is now an adult graduating from high school.  He has always been so full of energy.  The picture above expresses Chance in several views.

Go Lucy Go (2nd Annual) 5K

This upcoming Saturday is the Go Lucy Go 5K.  Last year it was a huge success raising money for LeBonheur Children's Hospital.  Lucy Krull has touched my heart in a way that has never been touched.  She is an inspriation to me and my family.  We've seen her get through one tough year but am SO PLEASED to announce that she is cancer free!  The money is once again going to this wonderful hospital that helped Lucy in more ways than one.    I am so happy to announce that I, along with a crew of friends will be face painting during the race.  Bring your family out to celebrate Lucy!

Gardening 101

OK DON'T LAUGH, I know you want to...it's me & Jaime playing in the dirt...Just kiddin...we are actually planting a garden.  I had a very small garden a couple of years ago and went somewhat bigger this year.  My tomato plants have already died-AND YES I WATERED THEM...UGH!  Keep your fingers crossed.

I planted an aspargus garden too.  I ordered some 2 year roots and it will take 2 more years for them to grow.  WHAT?  Patience is a virtue.
