Barack Obama

From 2009 Blog Pictures

Ever since Barack Obama has taken the presidency, I've never in MY LIFE seen so many handouts that come home with my children. Sure I understand Cade Carter (being in the 2nd grade) bringing home information but even little Cam (in preschool) is getting all the info he'll ever need on our president. It just cracks me up because when Cam says "Barack Obama" is our president. I think he just likes to say his name. I guess that history has definitley been made, but let's just lay off all the hand outs. One or two is really enough...LOL!!! Note Cam's autograph on the bottom!

Uncle Chris (consultant of play house)

From Blog 2008

"Well, well, well, Hmmmmmm? Looks like ya got a floor to your treehouse!" Uncle Chris observed the work that Hank's been trying to accomplish without a professional. Looks like two grown men can stand on it without falling...hopefully it will not fall in. Uncle Chris gave Hank some advice on the wall that are to be constructed...stay tuned!

Big Mama's Birthday!

We celebrated Big Mama's birthday at our house with a variety of strawberry items. (Her favorite) She is originally from Humboldt and everyone has heard of the "Strawberry Festival?" You can honestly say that she loves strawberries. Ever since I met Hank she's always had strawberry decor and always good strawberry recipes. Well today was her day and we had strawberry cake, strawberry romaine salad and of course lots more yummy food to celebrate her birthday. The whole gang was here! Even Grandmother Carter, Chris, Jody and Seth paid us a visit! It was a great day!

We love you "Aunt" Sarah!

Posted by PicasaThis is a familiar face to many-it's our soon to be "Aunt Sarah." She lost her Dad 2 weeks ago to a very short battle with cancer. Our family will continue to pray for her and her family and hopefully time will heal their pain. We can't wait until the big day she marries DiDi and becomes Mrs. Sarah Glenn! We love you "Aunt" Sarah.

My Poor Cam!

Cam had pancakes and pajamas day at school this morning. He looked so cute in his pj's and slippers. Unfortunately after he ate his pancakes he puked them up all over his school table and I had to go pick him up... CAN WE SAY GROSS!!!!!!! Bless his heart, when I got to school he was pale as a ghost. He has a sinus infection anyway and he's just not feeling like himself today. He missed his basketball game tonight and hopefully he'll make it to his next game tomorrow. As you can see, he's made his little nest in MY BED!!

Memories...

Posted by PicasaOk, don't laugh, but I got a new program for my computer and I'm experimenting with it. Not sure if I like it yet, but anywho...
Tonight when I ran across a memory stick from my old camera from years ago-to be exact January 2003. I inserted the card and look what was on it. It's Cade Carter at age 2 1/2 playing around. I just sat and almost cried when I saw how much he's grown. Cam wasn't even born yet and looking back it's hard to remember what life was like without "little brother."

Happy Birthday Honey!

From Drop Box

This past weekend we celebrated Hank's birthday along with Valentines Day with our annual party at our house. We had a house full and lots of great food and FUN! It was a "Dirty Cupid" party (something I came up with last year) It's like "Dirty Santa" but instead of Christmas gifts, each couple brings a Valentines gift. This year the gifts were EXTREMELY created! Somewhat embarassing but funny as heck! The only picture I got was of the table of goodies and I'm sure that our friends would appreciate no pictures!! LOL!!! Until next year...

Camden's Realization!

We have struggled with Camden over writing his name for awhile now. He is just not into school. He loves the social part of it and getting to play with all his buddies but the part about coloring and staying in the lines and writing his name has just been a nightmare. He just doesn't like to color. Just recently, he's starting to realize that -"Hey, my friends can write their name...I think I'll give it a try..." Here is his MASTERPIECE!!!

Baby Kayson Ray Hopkins

From Drop Box

I have been failing to blog more than usual the past couple of weeks because I have created a blog for my new baby cousin, Kayson Ray Hopkins. www.hopkinsfaithandhope.blogspot.com

Lesley delivered him at 31 weeks and the little guy has just gotten all the attention lately. He is the most precious baby. At 31 weeks he weighed a wopping 6 pounds. He has somewhat of a long road ahead but he is progressing really well. Not sure when he'll get to come home but the way he's going it should be soon. Lesley, Keith and Lillie Grace are so excited to have this new addition to their family.

An Event to Remember!

We framed this work of art done by the kids of the Nursery School. You can't see it but al the kids names are around the picture. Their little fingerprints are the petals. Made definitely with L-O-V-E!

Susan, Tammy & Holly

The Methodist Presbyterian Nursery School Board held a fundraiser for Tammy Davis. We served everyone a wonderful meal provided by Wade Hartsfield (he donated the food, bless him!) and had wonderful entertainment by Holly Lyle and her group of singers. Tammy was touched when we presented her the frame of all the children's fingerprints.

I do not have words to describe the love everyone felt on this night. We all love Ms. Tammy. When she was diagnosed months ago, I just sat and cried. How could this happen to anyone more special? "Miss" Tammy was Camden's first teacher and she is also a dear friend to me! (My coffee buddy) She will overcome this disease and fulfill God's plan. Her positive attitude has showed all of us that when we stumble on that rock in the road we WILL get back up and continue to follow God's plan.

The Beginning of a Tree House

The boys (especially Cade Carter) keep begging their Daddy to build them a tree house. Since we do not have any trees in our yard, we decided to go look for some on our land behind our house. We have a patch of trees that's overgrown with lots of shrubs, bushes and smaller trees. Hank got the chainsaw out and started cleaning away. It was a little scary to see Hank (the car salesman) with a chainsaw. Thank goodness, Paw Paw came out to observe the action that was going on. Paw Paw found a ladder that my Grandfather (Daddy James) hand built probably in the 70's. It was so neat to uncover these things that my Grandfather chose to keep. The ladder is going to work out perfect for the tree house. Let's just hope that this is the beginning of something very appealing to my boys!

Last front tooth! Age 8

Being 8 years old, Cade Carter has finally lost both front teeth. He is the slowest child I know that has lost teeth. At least he didn't lose both at the same time!

by understanding it is established,
and by knowledge the
rooms are filled
with all precious
