Homecoming 2011

These two cuties were the 5th grade Homecoming winners. We were so excited when they called out their names out on the football field. Hank & I were very proud parents.
Brooklyn Gardiner and Cade Carter were one good looking pair. We are so glad that he was chosen to escort such a beautiful young lady!

1st Major Science Project

Cade Carter's science project was to create an animal cell. Why not a pumpkin? It's got layers, right?

Picking Cotton

There is cotton all around our house this year.  Cam's favorite thing to do is watch the cotton pickers.  He has even made our yard into his own personal farming land.

Happy 11th Cade Carter

I can't believe that this kid is now 11!

***I'm a little behind in my blogging...This blog is intended to be a family album....not a daily blog....Sorry!! Maybe I can work on that! Maybe a New Year's Resolution.  :)

Fall Break 2011

Ashport Bottoms (Ever been here?)

Supposedly, one of these guns belonged to my Great Grandfather.  Not sure how I go about getting more facts on this.  I just remember my grandmother telling me that when she was younger, she had given the museum her father's gun that was in the Civil War.

The family hiked the 5 mile trail at Fort Pillow National Park.  Cam rode his Dad's back the last mile.  :)

Over Fall Break we went over to Fort Pillow and did a little hiking.  It was lots of fun.  Being from Tipton County you would think I would be a little more educated about the Mississippi River.  I mean, come on-everyone's been to the river.  I've of course been to Duvall Landing which is about 25 minutes away and I've seen the river in Memphis and other places in the US but gosh darn if I'd never been to the river that ran along the roadside at Ashport Bottoms.
"By wisdom a house is built,
by understanding it is established,
and by knowledge the
rooms are filled
with all precious
and pleansant riches."
