Belgian Waffles...yum!

If you do not have one of these...I suggest you go out and buy one today!  This little gadget is
A-W-E-S-O-M-E.  You can buy the mix at the grocery store and all you add is oil and water and VOILA-you've got Belgian waffles.  My secret is to freeze any leftovers for an easy serving breakfast when school begins.  Just pop in microwave if you don't have time to prepare the mix.  Happy Eating!

Summer Pics

As you can see, Cam decided to go swimming one last time at the end of a hot summer's day...IN HIS CLOTHES!!!!!!!!!

Water Parks Rock!

June went by very fast for our family due to all the summer camps and baseball all stars.  But come July, we found ourselves at Ripley Water Park for many festivities including birthdays and church events.  The boys went 3 times in one week and they thought that was awesome!

Southern Summer

Aunt Sarah and Uncle Dustin's cat "Tom."  He's a rescue cat, otherwise Aunt Sarah would have said "no cats!"  He's so cute-looks like a bob cat but with a tail!

My favorite flowers are "Black Eyed Susans."  I wonder why?  Seriously, I do adore these flowers...I have to wait until July to see them bloom-but it's so worth it!!

Hope ya'll are having a great start to the summer. Don't you just love lazy days by the pool and catching lightening bugs at night. What is there not to love about summer in the beautiful south? Besides the humidity!

More Elvis

The Lisa Marie plane was one of my favorites! Looking at Elvis's bedroom on one side of the plane along with his own full bath was amazing...he was definitely a man of style.

His mother's Pink Cadillac that he bought for her that I remind you-(in one installment.)

Hank & Cade Carter standing in front of Elvis's many awards.

This room is located behind the mansion in the racquetball house.  This was a room where Elvis and his band would hang out and work on songs.  (Lots of brown)

Graceland 2010

Have you ever gone on a road trip and find yourself running into complete strangers and they ask "where ya from?"  It happens to us all the time and we always say "right outside of Memphis."  And the next question out of their mouth is "How is Graceland?" Why is it that we find ourselves dumbfounded and say "uh, hadn't been before."  I went to Graceland when I was around 8 years old but Hank & the boys have never been.  So guess what we did today?

"This is the formal living room-lots of white...not sure if I like those peacocks.

As everyone knows I love interior design and I watch HGTV 24/7.  As I toured the home I did not find the home tacky as others would say.  (YES I AM CRITIQUING IT) But I could see how Elvis's interior designer found ONE item in each room that always popped.  For instance, this all white room and the "gold" curtains in the back of the room definitely "pop."
This pic is somewhat blurry but I couldn't help but post it.  Purple velvet comforter and yes-more white carpet! VERY SHEEK!  Again, the purple comforter and drapes pop.

Formal Dining Room-the royal blue drapes definitely "pop!"

The mansion.

Family

.
Our cousin, Glenda Carroll, came down from Kentucky for a visit.  We enjoyed dinner at Dustin & Sarah's.  It was nice to see and visit with her.

Dora & her 4 Kittens!

This is Diego the "Daddy Cat!"

Aren't they cute?  We keep them in the boys toy box in the garage...perfect place because the kitties cannot get out!

Our lady cat "Dora" had four baby kittens and they all look just alike...They will be ready to be given away sometime in August if anyone would like a kitten.  They really do keep mice and snakes away!

Hank's new "Y" is for Yearbook car!!

Considering Hank drives many miles a week, he is very hard on a car, therefore, he has officially traded "Air Force One" (that would be his nickname for his white Taurus)  and got a Chevrolet Impala "Smoke" (that would be this car's new nickname.)  Tony Stewart (racecar driver) drives a red Impala and his nickname is "Smoke."  Well this is his new yearbook car.  Look Out!  Men & Nicknames...I feel like my Expedition is left out...I've never named it...I'll pass.

Heirlooms

My Mom & Dad say that I get my hobby of cooking from my grandmother Mama Da-because as my Mom always says "You didn't get it from ME!!" I would like to believe that I acquired a lot more from her than just her joy of cooking because she was a truly amazing woman whom I miss very much.

When I think of an heirloom that is most dear to my heart, I think of my grandmother, "Mama Da's"  ring that was passed down to me when she passed away in 2003. Not only was the ring passed down to me I was also named after her...Doris Elizabeth- not to mention my mother's name is Sherry Elizabeth.
What a wonderful grandmother I had!  I wear the ring often because it is a reminder of a Godly woman I loved and adored. I will be looking for her when I get to heaven someday!

Cam would rather just jump off the side of the boat...no worries for him!-he did make the comment on the ride to the river that he WAS NOT going to get in the water because he was afraid of sharks...we are no longer allowed to watch the movie JAWS anymore-do you HEAR ME CADE CARTER???  PUT YOUR MOVIES AWAY-THEY SCARE CAM!
Cade Carter attempted to ski-but just couldn't get up...maybe next time!

Cam was just about up on the water but the water in his face scared him so he let go...maybe next time Cam!

Miss Tammy

As I type this I am tears from losing someone who has meant a lot to me and my boys for awhile now.  We all lost an angel today.  Words cannot describe the wonderful angel Miss Tammy Davis was to so many little ones over the past years.  Miss Tammy was Camden's first teacher.  He adored her just as I did!  She brought so much joy to so many children...sometimes I do not think she even knew "how much."  Ms Tammy was a talented scrapbook fanatic and those skills show in the immaculate scrapbook she gave Cam on the last day of preschool.  As I look at the book tonight with tears coming down, I know in my heart that she is in a better place...I keep asking myself what would Tammy say to me with these tears that keep coming down and I can hear her say:

Just close your eyes and you will see

All the memories that you have of me

Just sit and relax and you will find

I'm really still there inside your mind

Don’t cry for me now I'm gone

For I am in the land of song

There is no pain, there is no fear

So dry away that silent tear

Don’t think of me in the dark and cold

For here I am, no longer old

I'm in that place that’s filled with love

Known to you all, as "UP ABOVE"

-I will see you again someday my coffee buddy.~Susan
